Meet Our Buffett Post-Baccalaureate Fellows
The Buffett Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship is a one-year, paid fellowship program designed to prepare recent Northwestern University graduates for impactful global careers and open doors to diverse career paths.
Fellows work full-time at partner organizations abroad, gaining practical experience and professional skills in a variety of fields such as the arts, human rights, community development, and global health, among others.

2026–27
Ty’Shea Woods
Research Associate, Uganda Unites
Ty’Shea Woods earned her BA in Psychology from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences in 2026. She is interested in researching how people and communities navigate identity, conflict, and social change. She has conducted qualitative fieldwork in Colombia on language, identity, and education and has researched identity development and peacebuilding across academic and practitioner settings. Through the Roberta Buffett Institute’s partnership with Uganda Unites, Ty’Shea will contribute to research and programming focused on youth, peacebuilding, and community engagement in Uganda. She is especially interested in learning from locally grounded approaches to peace and translating research into work that can support more just and inclusive communities globally.
Sarah Norman
Research Associate, Innovations for Poverty Action
Sarah Norman earned her BA in International Studies with a minor in Data Science from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences and her BS in Social Policy from the School of Education & Social Policy in 2026. She is an Australian national who spent her childhood in the Philippines. Through the Roberta Buffett Institute’s partnership with Innovations for Poverty Action, she seeks to translate data into actionable insights and effective policy.
Mia Perkins
Global Network on Extremism & Technology Fellow, Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) at King's College London
Mia Perkins earned her BA in Economics and International Studies from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences in 2026. She is from Aotearoa New Zealand. Her work is grounded in a commitment to human rights, community-led approaches, and empathetic responses to complex global challenges. At Northwestern, she was part of the Roberta Buffett Institute’s delegation to the United Nations' annual climate change conference COP29. She was also a Leopold Fellow at the Chabraja Center for Historical Studies and a Research Assistant at the Pritzker School of Law. Through the Roberta Buffett Institute’s partnership with GIFCT, she seeks to connect community-led initiatives with responses to harms emerging from the digital sphere, particularly for communities whose voices are often underrepresented in global conversations.
Gabriela Pesantez
Legal Fellow, Center for Reproductive Rights’ Latin America & Caribbean Program
Gabriela Pesantez earned her BA in Legal Studies from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences and her BS in Social Policy from the School of Education & Social Policy in 2026. Additional details are forthcoming.
Bryden Behrens
Sustainability Fellow, Minor International
Bryden Behrens earned his BA in Political Science with a minor in Business Institutions from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences and earned his Integrated Marketing Communications Certificate from the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications in 2025. His first year after graduation, he worked as an analyst at JPMorganChase. He is interested in global business strategy as well as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks. He seeks to contribute to Minor International’s sustainability and ecotourism strategies.

Anne-Sophie Lacombe García
Artistic Producing Associate, Broadway Across Borders
Anne-Sophie Lacombe García earned her BA in International Studies from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences and Theatre from the School of Communication in 2025. She spent eight months in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, working with Broadway Across Borders to lead the development and production of the first Bosnian-translated Broadway musical ever staged in the country. She built a creative team that brought together the University of Sarajevo’s three arts academies for the first time on a single production, creating a unified framework for musical theatre where it had not previously existed. She helped secure partnerships with organizations like the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which became a lead sponsor and organized a conference where Broadway Across Borders’ work was presented as a model for institutional collaboration in Sarajevo.
Olivia Case
Research Associate, Innovations for Poverty Action
Olivia Case earned her BA in Economics and Political Science from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences in 2025. In Manila, she spent her days in the office doing statistical analysis and data cleaning in Stata, questionnaire programming in SurveyCTO, and creating training materials for field staff and new research assistants. She traveled to Iloilo City, in Western Visayas, where Innovations for Poverty Action’s field office is based. She attended provincial workshops launching Philippines Socioeconomic Panel Survey (PSPS) data. She supported sub-studies of the PSPS, spanning field operations, survey programming, and data cleaning and management. In December of 2025, she took ownership of her own project: a natural disasters and education survey. She programmed the pilot questionnaires in SurveyCTO, trained and onboarded enumerators, led two pilot survey rounds, and generated summary statistics for delivery to a partner bank.
Neha Navrange
Legal Fellow, Center for Reproductive Rights’ Latin America & Caribbean Program
Neha Navrange earned her BA in Psychology and Global Health Studies with a minor in Data Science from the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences in 2025. During her fellowship at the Center for Reproductive Rights’ office in Bogota, Colombia, she contributed to litigation before the Inter-American System of Human Rights and United Nations treaty bodies. She conducted legal research, annex preparation, comparative law analysis, and case documentation to support strategic litigation and advocacy advancing reproductive autonomy and maternal health in Latin America and the Caribbean.
