Opportunities for Graduate Students

The Buffett Institute is an intellectual community for graduate students who work on international and global topics. At our talks and seminars, you’ll meet colleagues in other departments and schools as well as learn about cutting-edge scholarship across the disciplines. We also offer a range of funding opportunities. Our aim is to help you build international, interdisciplinary networks that will support you during graduate school and beyond.

Grants and Fellowships

The Buffett Institute has launched a set of new graduate funding opportunities for doctoral students whose research focuses on the world outside the contiguous or continental United States. The most recent application window closed on March 24, 2024.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for graduate students to study, conduct research or teach English abroad.   • Feinberg School of Medicine: Center for Global Health offers funding for research and educational opportunities abroad. Learn about global health opportunities.
