Patrick Eccles has been managing global engagement programs at the Buffett Institute's Global Learning Office (GLO) since 2012. In his role at GLO, Patrick oversees program the Global Engagement Studies Institute (GESI) program and co-curricular programs at GLO. While at Northwestern, Patrick has pursued efforts to prioritize equity of access and outcomes in study abroad, promote ethical practice in university-community partnerships and establish campus partnerships to foster identity development and critical reflection through global learning programs. Prior to Northwestern, he spent seven years working to deepen and expand experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students while coordinating local, domestic and international immersion experiences at Loyola University Chicago. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Chicago. He speaks fluent Spanish. An outdoor enthusiast, Patrick enjoys biking, hiking, camping, birding and exploring nature in the Midwest or any place he travels.
