State-of-the-art Applications of Quantum Computing: Fireside Chat with Professor Kohei Itoh, President of Keio University
The Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs hosted a Fireside Chat featuring Professor Kohei Itoh, President of Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, in conversation with Michael R. Wasielewski, Clare Hamilton Hall Professor of Chemistry at Northwestern University and Executive Director of the Northwestern Paula M. Trienens Institute for Sustainability and Energy, and moderated by Annelise Riles, Associate Provost for Global Affairs at Northwestern University and Executive Director of the Northwestern Buffett Institute.
Professor Itoh introduced state-of-the-art quantum computer hardware developments and demonstrated the promising future of quantum computers based on current algorithm and software research that takes full advantage of the actual quantum computers available today. Near-future applications of quantum computing in the scientific and industrial sectors were also discussed.
