Russia's War on Ukraine: Assessing the Risks of Nuclear Confrontation or Accidents
On April 11, Northwestern University's Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies Research Program (REEES) and the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs co-hosted a virtual panel discussion and Q&A session on the risks of nuclear confrontation or accidents in Russia's war on Ukraine.
Panelists included Mariana Budjeryn, Research Associate, Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center Project on Managing the Atom; Thomas Countryman, Former Assistant Secretary of State for International Security & Nonproliferation; Steven Pifer, William Perry Fellow, Stanford University & former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine; and Gayle Woloschak, Professor of Radiation Oncology and Radiology, Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine.
