May Malone is the Associate Director of Global Communications and Engagement at the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs. In this role, she leads the Buffett Institute’s multimedia storytelling and other strategic communications initiatives, including writing and editing for a diverse spectrum of audiences within and outside of academia, graphic design, content production and event management. She plays a lead role in elevating awareness and understanding of the work to address complex global challenges that Buffett catalyzes and supports at Northwestern University and worldwide. May earned her BA in sociology with a concentration in urban education from the University of Chicago and previously served as Senior Public Engagement Strategist at the University of Chicago’s Urban Education Institute. She has also served as the producer, director, director of cinematography and/or editor of several short films. In her free time, May enjoys watching Premier League matches and reading fiction and poetry.
