Harrington Weihl

harrington_weihl_170px.pngHarrington Weihl is the Director of Research at the Northwestern Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Affairs, where he oversees the Institute's faculty and graduate programs and works to connect researchers with funding opportunities and other programming that might support their work. He joined the Buffett Institute from the University of Chicago Press, where he served as a Managing Editor in the Journals Division. He has worked with journals in a variety of disciplines, ranging from medicine to business and art to the natural sciences. Before working in publishing, Harrington earned a PhD in English at Northwestern. His dissertation charted different ways that games and play shaped the social and political commitments of global anglophone literature; he continues to research and write on modern and contemporary cultural production. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, playing video games and doting on his cats.
