Cara Mitchell Lawson

cara_lawson_170px.pngCara Mitchell Lawson is the Interim Director of the Buffett Institute's Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISS). In this role, Cara provides support services to international scholars, departments, faculty and staff to ensure ongoing immigration compliance and employment authorization for Northwestern’s international scholar population. Prior to arriving at OISS 15 years ago, she grew up in Evanston, earned her BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her MA in Linguistics while living in Sydney, Australia, and teaching Cambridge English courses for over a decade. In her free time, she reverts back to being “a local” and spends time with family, friends, neighbors, chickens, pets and insects in her much-loved garden. There is always a pile of books to be read on her bedside table.
