Aamir Mufti

Aamir Mufti is Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. Mufti's work focuses on understanding the range of forms of inequality in the contemporary world and how they impede the possibilities for historically autonomous action by social collectivities in the South. 

In 2016, Harvard University Press published Professor Mufti's latest book, Forget English! Orientalisms and World Literatures 

In his first collaboration with the Global Humanities Initiative, Professor Mufti will deliver a lecture on the work of Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz and conduct a graduate seminar in January 2017.
