Project and Research Funding

We think everyone at Northwestern should be able to have an international experience. That’s why we are committed to equity of access and providing funding for projects, research, or internships that address critical global issues.

Please note that many of our grant opportunities are on pause while we conduct a review of our funding. 

  • Buffett International Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP): The Buffett Institute partners with Northwestern’s Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP) to expand opportunities for international internships.
  • Supplemental Research/Travel Grant: The Buffett Supplemental Grant program provides funding to undergraduates to complete or enhance research, internships, project work, or other non-traditional experiences relevant to contemporary global issues.
  • Projects for Peace Grant: The Projects for Peace program enables undergraduates across the nation to design grassroots "projects for peace" that use a summer to tackle global social issues.
