Help us commemorate Bertie's $100 million gift

December 4, 2015

In January 2015, Northwestern announced Roberta Buffett Elliott’s $100 million gift to the University—the largest single gift in the University’s history—to create the Buffett Institute for Global Studies. To celebrate a year of continuing success with our global engagement and interdisciplinary research programs, help us say "thank you!" to Bertie in one (or more) of three ways:

Write a note

From scholarships and travel grants to research and program expansion, Bertie's gift has been felt across the Institute. How has she impacted your experience? Write her a brief personal note.

Snap a photo

They say a picture's worth a thousand words, so download this simple print-out and take a photo of yourself from wherever you are—your dorm room, research site, your student or working group meeting, or home for the holidays—and send it, along with your connection to Buffett, to holly.worthy@northwestern.edu.

Come to a "photo booth" session at Buffett

Not the DIY type? Come to the Buffett Institute and let us help you out. We'll have a thank-you poster printed, a camera ready, and even a computer set up if you'd like to write a note to Bertie on the spot. Simply pick one of these dates and head to the Buffett Institute:

  • Wednesday, December 9 from 1:00–3:00p
  • Friday, January 8 from 10:00a–12:00p
  • Friday, January 15 from 1:00–3:00p
