Global Capitalism & Law

Regional Colloquium on Global Capitalism & Law

May 18-19, 2017

Beginning in 2017, the Global Capitalism and Law Research group working with the American Bar Foundation will host or co-sponsor a workshop for scholarship on Global Capitalism and Law, drawing from the disciplines of law, political science, philosophy, sociology, history and anthropology.  This workshop provides a chance for our group members to come together, to share their research and a nice meal, to build a larger network of scholars and to receive feedback on work in progress.  We will begin with a regional workshop, drawing from academic institutions in the midwest to be held at Northwestern University May 18-19, 2017. Our intention is to build this workshop into an annual event that rotates venues.

A call for abstracts will be circulated in November, with applications due in early December. Faculty and advanced graduate students are encouraged to submit work in progress. Scholars need to provide for their own transportation and lodging (we have reserved a block of rooms at The Homestead). Meals, programming and logistical support will be covered by the host.
